In the early 1950s Albert Wajs founded the Ollech&Wajs as a supplier of high quality stainless steel bracelets. He partnered with Joseph Ollech in 1956 and expanded into the manufacturing of wristwatches in Zurich. Ollech&Wajs specialized in automatic and manual-wind mechanical military, chronograph, and diver’s watches.

Sales grew rapidly from a few thousand pieces annually, to over fifty thousand as Ollech&Wajs expanded into export markets such as Germany, France and the United States. Ollech&Wajs supplied US Military personnel with models such as the M 65, which was considered more robust and durable than the standard issue items at the time.

Additionally, Ollech&Wajs developed a line of diver’s watches, of which the Caribbean 702, which was extensively tested by Global Marine in California. rs.
